Watch Cartier Sonate Saphirs & diamonds - Mécanique - 1988 (full set)
The House of Cartier offers a rich repertoire of watchmaking creations, and wonders are constantly resurfacing. Such is the case with this beautiful Cartier Sonate. Dated 1988, it is accompanied by its original invoice drawn up in Melbourne, its certificate of origin and its case. A step back in time, accentuated by the impeccable condition of the watch. It's as if you've just stepped out of the Cartier boutique!
This piece is a true cocktail watch. The square 18-carat yellow gold case is set with diamonds and round sapphires; the bezel with an inverted diamond. The satin strap is elegantly linked to the case by fine attachments: three spaced diamondss topped by a line of sapphires.
To avoid overloading the watch, the dial is kept very simple. On a white background, the hours are indicated by "baton" hour markers, except at 3, 6, 9 and 12 o'clock. The blued hands echo the bracelet and sapphires, while the whiteness of the dial adds luminosity to the diamonds. A welcome contrast that maintains visual harmony on the wrist.
To complete the model, the Cartier Sonate is fitted with a hand-wound Jaeger mechanical movement (Cartier signature), overhauled and guaranteed for 1 year.
Last but not least, this timepiece is fitted with an 18-carat yellow gold folding clasp.
