Grande Ring Art Deco Amethyst and diamonds

Large Amethyst white gold 18Kt and paltinium (hallmarks: eagle's head and dog's head), the center of which is set with an oval amethyst weighing approximately 10.00 Cts, in a double surround of diamonds rose-cut diamonds.
Total weight diamonds estimated at approximately 0.30 Ct.

French work, Art Deco, circa 1935.

Condition: very slight micro-scratches on the gold and silver parts. paltinium, and slight abrasion on the amethyst, see photos.

 

Legend has it that the nymph Amethyst pursued by Dionysus, begs Artemis for help. Our ancient girl power figure turns her into rock crystal. 

The angry God pours hard wine over the crystal, giving it its crimson color.
