Antique rose gold and rose-cut diamond sleeper earrings

A pair of 18k rose gold (750/1000) sleeper earrings. The square, faceted main section is engraved with flowers and set in its center with a small rose-cut diamond in a star setting. French work from the 1880s/1900s, at the transition between the Napoleon III and Art Nouveau styles. The eagle's head hallmark for 18k gold and traces of a maker's mark are present.
