Necklace composed of an 18Kt yellow gold chain, (hallmark: owl), convict link, holding an 18Kt yellow gold pendant adorned with a red plaque inlaid with a micro-mosaic representing the decoration of an ancient temple in ruins.

Condition: slight micro-scratches on the gold parts, slight shocks and scratches on the red plate and the micro-mosaic, see photos.

Micro-mosaics experienced their golden age from the end of the 18th to the beginning of the 19th century. At that time the European aristocracy visited Italian cities (we speak of the Grand Tour) and thus contributed to the birth of numerous workshops where these micro-mosaic travel souvenirs were made.
