A 14-karat yellow gold brooch in the form of an insect. The lower body is represented by a baroque pearl, while the upper body and head are pavé-set with rose-cut diamonds. The eyes are rubies, and the four openwork wings are adorned with rose-cut diamonds, occasionally punctuated by rubies and sapphires. It fastens with a pin and safety catch. The four wings are hinged at the base. Circa 1950.
