Rare old Poissons earrings in 18Kt pink and yellow gold (hallmark: ram's head) decorated with amethysts called rose de France, mounted on spangles.
Breaking system, loops passing through the back with ear stop.
French work from the beginning of the 19th century, circa 1819 to 1838.

Condition: very light micro scratches, traces of welding, and shocks on the gold parts, oxidation of the gold and the spangles, slight abrasion of the stones, natural inclusions in the stones, see photos.
Did you know that the name "poissardes" comes from the fish sellers who wore this type of earrings in the 19th century, but could also come from a play by Antoine-Francois Eve, known as Maillot?
