Ring Ruby 1.60 Cts and diamond Pear on Yellow Gold

Ring yellow gold 18Kt (head of an eagle and an owl), set with an oval ruby (probable origin: Siam), weighing approximately 1.60 Cts, in a setting of diamonds pear-cut and brilliant-cut.

Total weight diamonds estimated at approx. 0.50 Ct (estimated color H, estimated clarity VS).

Vintage French work from the 80/90s.
Numbering inside the ring.

Gross weight: 3.27 g
Height of central motif: 0.80 cm

SizeSize: 54 (diameter 17.10/ US 6.75)

Condition: very slight micro-scratches on the gold parts, natural inclusions in the stones, see photos.

Did you know that ruby is always red? It belongs to the corundum family, whose blue variety (or any color other than red) is called sapphire.

However, multiple shades of red exist: pigeon's blood red, raspberry red, burgundy red, orange red... It's the chemical element chromium that gives it its most beautiful red!
