Yellow gold and star sapphire bangle ring

Domed bangle ring in 18kt yellow gold (eagle's head hallmark) adorned in its center with a beautiful star sapphire cabochon, the weight of which is estimated at approximately 7.50 Cts.

Sapphire accompanied by a Carat Gem Lab certificate, specifying natural star sapphire without thermal modifications, from Ceylon.

French work, Vintage.

Gross weight: 8.95g Finger size: 59 (diameter 18.75/US 8.75). Height of the pattern: 1.50 cm

Condition: slight micro scratches on the gold parts, natural inclusions and very slight abrasion of the sapphire, see photos.

Star sapphire has an asterism shape. If you shine an electric light on this type of sapphire, a 6-pointed star appears as if by magic!

This phenomenon is caused by the reflection of light on the natural inclusions (here rutile needles) of the cabochon cut stone.

The most important deposit historically is Ceylon, like our sapphire.
