Hexagonal Art Deco ring in white gold, sapphire and diamonds

Hexagonal Art Deco engagement ring in 18kt white gold and platinum (hallmark: eagle's head), the center of which is decorated with a dark blue sapphire, square with cut sides, weighing approximately 6.80 Cts (probable origin: Siam) , in an entourage of 8x8 cut diamonds.

Total weight of diamonds estimated at approximately 0.40 Ct.

French work circa 1935, Art Deco.

Gross weight: 4.26g Pattern height: 1.70 cm

Finger size: 52 (diameter 16.50 / US 6.00).

Condition: slight micro scratches on the gold and platinum parts, slight chipping of the sapphire, natural inclusions in the stones, see photos.

The Art Deco movement, short for “Decorative Arts”, was born around 1910. It reached its peak in the 1920s and then declined in the 1930s. In reaction to the rounded and organic forms of Art Nouveau , this “Roaring Twenties” style ” develops geometric and refined shapes.
