Important pair of antique gold and amethyst earrings yellow gold 18-carat (750 thousandths) solid gold, double eagle head guarantee hallmark and master goldsmith's diamond hallmark.
French work, late 19th/early 20th century. The aspen mobile part is adorned with a large cut amethyst measuring 8 mm in diameter of a beautiful deep violet color, claw-set on a basket in silver. It is surmounted by a luminous white stone in imitation of the diamond, stone. A toggle fastening system threads through the front of the ear.

Very good condition. Settings checked, buckles cleaned/polished. Loops close very well. These are magnificent sleepers, with beautiful volume and luminosity.
