It was in 1907 that Alphonse Augis, a jeweler in Lyon, inspired by a poem by Rosemonde Gérard (1866-1953) dedicated to her husband, the writer Edmond Rostand (1868-1918), author of "Cyrano de Bergerac" in 1897, created the Love Medal. He had the idea of ​​transcribing the two lines: "For you see, each day I love you more, today more than yesterday and less than tomorrow."
